Important Update from HETAS BEIS is calling for views on a proposal to temporarily suspended fuel quality requirements for wood pellets under the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). The consultation is available here: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/renewable-heat-incentive-temporary-changes-to-wood-pellets-quality-requirement. The UK Government, in cooperation with industry, recognises that the supply of wood pellets in the UK has been affected as a result of the suspension of wood pellets sourced or imported from Russia and Belarus, due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. This notice invites stakeholders to express their views on the proposed measure to temporarily suspend the fuel quality requirement for RHI participants using wood pellets. The proposed measure applies to both the Domestic RHI (DRHI) and Non-domestic RHI (NDRHI) schemes. All responses must be received by 11 September 2022.BEIS will hold an online engagement session on 01 September where they plan to briefly present their proposal and answer questions related to this topic. Details will be available on this in the near future. Any questions about the above can be directed to RHI@beis.gov.uk. |
